Zelda Irene Larson, age 84 of Buffalo City, WI passed away on August 26, 2014 at Lake Winona Manor. Zelda was born one of eleven children to Fred and Ida (Leslie) Christner on March 16, 1930 in Eau Claire, WI. She married Donald Larson on December 30, 1949. This union blessed them with four children. In 1955 they moved to Buffalo City, WI. Zelda was a faithful, longtime parishioner of Hope United Church of Christ in Cochrane where she was at one time the Sunday school teacher. Zelda worked at La Crosse Milling in Cochrane for several years, and then worked at Winona Industries for nearly twenty years. She ended her employment at Miller-Felpax until her health caused her to retire. Zelda loved to garden, and it showed. Besides her vegetable gardens that took over half of their property, she had flower gardens, with flowers planted in every nook and cranny around the house. Everyone reaped the benefits of her hard work as well, when canned and shared her harvest. Her favorite pastime also included traveling in their RV to Canada and to Niagara Falls. She even traveled by herself, being brave and flying out to CA to meet her son when he returned back from the Navy. Her greatest pleasure was by all means, her family. Her grandchildren brought her great joy. Zelda loved going to their little league games or even having her own personal concert performed by her first great grandchild. She will be forever in the hearts of her children Dennis Larson, Janice (Randy) Oesau, , Steve (Carolyn) Larson; her grand and great grandchildren Beth(Todd) Comero with their children Brody, Kaelyn, Tucker, and Hartley; Brian (Naomi) Oesau with their children Madison, Mason, Morgan, and Myles; step grandchildren Jeremy and Christopher Bobo, and step great grandchild Kai Bobo. Her siblings Don Christner, Alvin Christner, Jeanette Ableidinger, and Velma Atchintson. She will also be missed by her little furry grand kid Maggie, who made many welcomed visits to the Manor and her kitty Sage. Zelda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her son Gary, siblings Alfred ,Jerry, Dorothy, Glen, and Richard. A visitation and funeral service will be at Talbot Family Funeral in Cochrane on Saturday August 30 at 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Buffalo City Cemetery.
