Wilbert Louis Frank Rohrer, 95 of Cochrane, WI died October 9, 2014 at Lake Winona Manor.
He was born to Hulda Paulina Bollinger and Frank Bertram Rohrer on March 21, 1919 on the family farm in the town of Belvidere, Alma, WI where he farmed and spent his entire life.
He attended grade school at Little Blue Bell country school and graduated from Cochrane High School.
Wilbert married Mildred R. (Diekrager) Schams on August 11, 1973 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Nodine, MN.
He was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church in Cochrane, WI.
Wilbert enjoyed music and played drums in many area bands, mainly the Art King Band.
He won the Wisconsin state contour plowing contest in 1950.
Wilbert was on the Board of Directors for Cochrane Cooperative Telephone Co. He was also a 4-H leader for about 20 years. He also served on the dairy promotion committee.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Mildred R. Rohrer, Alma, sister Marvelle Haeuser, Cochrane, step children Kenneth W. (Ruth) Schams ,Dakota, MN, David A. (Sandy) Schams, Alma, WI, Jeanne M. (Terry) Stremcha, Dakota, MN, grandchildren Debbra (Matt) Pretzer, Steven (Sarah) Schams, Diane Schams, Christopher (Tina) Schams, Benjamin (Holly) Schams, Stephanie (Josh) Cherry, Matthew (Abby) Stremcha, Jennifer (Mike) Dickinson, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Melva (Elmer) Bade, brothers Roslyn (Lillian) Rohrer, Rodney Rohrer and brother-in law Merlin Haeuser.
There will be a visitation Sunday October 12 from 4:00-6:00pm at Christ Lutheran Church, Cochrane, WI. The funeral will be Monday October 13 at Christ Lutheran Church at 11:00am with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be at 2:30pm at Bush Cemetery 3 mi east of Ridgeway, MN.
