Wayne Lee Grotjahn, age 58, of Alma, WI died on Saturday November 19, 2016.
Doing exactly what he loved, hunting with his family and friends on Alma Bluff.
He was born on October 1, 1958 in Winona, MN a son of Lloyd and Ruby (Doebbert) Grotjahn.
Wayne attended and graduated from Alma Area Schools with the class of 1976.
Shortly after high school Wayne was employed by Madison Silo, Mueller Surge and shortly there after began a career with Reglin & Hesch Excavating, a career that spanned 30 years.
He dedicated his time as a volunteer fire fighter with the Alma Fire Department.
Wayne loved hunting. It didn’t matter the season or the type of hunting. Whether it was for deer, bear or out west he enjoyed it all.
His love of hunting was evident by his life membership and involvement with the Alma Rod & club.
Wayne had a wonderful personality and to know him was to like him. He leaves behind many friends that will remember him for years to come.
Wayne will be sadly missed by his dad, Lloyd, of Alma, WI; siblings, Karen (Montie) Lewis of Drummonds, TN, Joan Grotjahn of Oakdale, MN, Kevin Grotjahn of Alma and Bruce Grotjahn of Alma; one nephew, Tyler Lewis of Drummonds, TN; also by numerous aunts and uncles.
Wayne was preceded in death by his loving mom, Ruby.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma Chapel with Pastor Joel Bacon officiating. Burial will follow at the Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, WI. Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Saturday, from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service all at the funeral home.
Serving as Grotch’s pallbearers are Dave Ness, Donnie Ganz, Joel Schollmeier, Scott “Shake” Baker, Willie Pronschinske, Jeff Reglin; Honorary pallbearers, Bobby Deck, Brenda Pronschinske, Aaron Comero, Timmer Reglin, Jer Schaffner, Todd Meyer, Matt Rice, Bruce Korte, Andrew Armstrong, Gene Brownell Tater Stevens, Mike Abts and Scooter Green.
The family of Wayne would like to take this opportunity to send out a heartfelt thank you to Mike Abts, Scooter Green, Aaron Comero, Dave Ness along with Brenda Pronschinske and Jer Schaffner for all they did for him during his illness and all those that kept him in your prayers.
