Warren F. Hulke

Warren F. Hulke, age 89, of Mondovi, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 23, 2015 at his home in the Town of Canton, Buffalo County, WI. He was born on February 5, 1926 in Merrill, WI a son of the late Alfred and Esther (Loewenhagen) Hulke. Warren honorably served his country at the age of 17, as a member of the United States Navy serving during WW II and stationed on the USS Philadelphia. On November 7, 1945, Warren was united in marriage to Jeanette T. Becker at St. Paul's Lutheran Parsonage in the Town of Canton. To this union, two children were born. Warren was employed at National Presto Co. in Eau Claire. For a period of time, Warren would spend his weeks in Kenosha working at American Motors while his family remained back home in Mondovi. He was a hard worker that would do anything to provide a loving home for his family. Lastly, Warren worked for over 20 years at Huntsinger Farms, retiring in 1988. During retirement, Warren enjoyed time spent on his hobby farm. Lots of happy times were spent at the cabin in Edgewater, and fishing for bluegills. Warren was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Dillon-Johnson-Anderson Post 154 of Mondovi. Warren will be remembered for his incredible work ethic, his joyful smile, large and wonderful gardens, his cooking abilities, love for hunting and his kind and humane heart. His greatest joy in life was his family and the time spent with each and every one of them. Warren will be sadly missed by his children, Judy (Bob) Strader of Eau Claire and Doug (Karen) Hulke of Mondovi; 5 grandchildren, Jamie (Chad) Bilderback of Amery, Jackie (Mike) Johnson of Eau Claire, Jeff (Kelly) Hanestad of Newbury Park, CA, Kari (Corey) Lewis and Jake (Sadie) Hulke both of Mondovi; great grandchildren, Dan, Andrea, Jennifer, Nicole, Chris, J.J., Ben, Claire, Ella, Carter and Josie; 2 sisters, Donna (Duane) Radsek of Pepin and Colleen (Dale) Bloom of Gilmanton; brother Alfred "Duttie" (Joy) Hulke of Merrill; also by many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Besides his parents, Warren was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 27, 2015 at 11:30 AM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi Chapel with Pastor Rolf Morck officiating. Burial will follow, with full military rites, at Riverside Public Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
