Virginia Krause age 83 of Holly Hill, FL formerly of Alma passed away on Monday, March 12 at her home in Holly Hill.
She was born on July 12, 1928 in Wabasha a daughter of the late Adolf and Anna (Thompson) Reidt.
On May 22, 1948 Virginia married Belmont Krause at St. John Lutheran Church in Alma. To this union, two children were born.
Virginia would help her husband run their business, Krause Construction. Together, they purchased land and in 1968 they opened the Tri-Oval speedway racetrack which they owned until 1974. It was in 1974 that Virginia and Belmont relocated to Florida.
While residing in Florida, she worked many years at the Georgian Inn as the executive housekeeper, retiring from here at the age of 67. Virginia was an active member of the VFW Post #1590 in Holly Hill, holding the position of guard for many years and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Ormond Beach, FL.
Virginia liked to go hunting, fishing and boating. She also enjoyed traveling. She would come to visit her son at least once a year and together they would fish and go visiting family and friends.
Virginia will be deeply missed by her son, Lanny (Diane) Krause of Winona; grandchildren, Christopher Krause of Gulfport MS, Amy (Paul) Maisel of Evergreen CO, Brian Krause of Winona and Tiffany Dagget of Holly Hill, FL; great grandchildren, Kailer, Alex, Sam, Emma, Kaden, Desere and Maria.
Besides her parents, husband Belmont and her daughter Cindy Alexander preceded Virginia in death.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 24 at 12:00 noon at Dr. Martin Luther Church in Buffalo City with Pastor Mark Wilde officiating. Inurnment will follow at Buffalo City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the hour of the memorial service.
