Vila G. Loesel, age 82 of Mondovi passed away peacefully on Monday, September 17, at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi with her family by her side. She was born on October 25, 1929, in the town of Lincoln, Buffalo County, WI. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Minnie (Veraguth) Heller. On May 8, 1947, Vila was united in marriage to Levi J. Loesel Sr. in Cochrane. To this union, seven children were born. Levi preceded Vila in death on September 17, 1997. She was a devoted homemaker and mother and found joy in caring for her children.
Vila was an Avon saleswoman for almost 20 years, retiring due to health concerns. She also worked and found enjoyment taking care of children at St. Boniface Catholic School, Waumandee, as the school cook and janitor and will be remembered for her homemade bread.
Vila will be remembered for the love and devotion she had for her entire family. Even in her final days Vila thought more of her family’s wellbeing than of her own.
Vila will be sadly missed by one daughter, Judy (Bill) Fuller of Hixson, TN, six sons, Dallas (Le Anne) Loesel of Gilmanton, Jerry (Sandy) Loesel of Kenosha, Lennis (Connie) Loesel of Gilmanton, Levi Jr. (Denise) Loesel of Strum, WI, Billie (Vicky) Loesel of Independence, and Jimmie (Brenda) Loesel of Alma; 14 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren; also by her nieces, nephews, and friends. Besides her parents, she joins her husband Levi Sr., three brothers, Roger, Gaylord, and Delmar Heller, and one precious great granddaughter, MacKayla Sue Fernholz. Vila’s grandsons will be serving as pallbearers. A Visitation will be at the Poeschel-Talbot Funeral Home in Mondovi at 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM on Thursday September 20, and again one hour prior to the Funeral Service at Zion Lutheran Church, Mondovi at 11:00 AM on Friday September 21. Burial will follow at Buffalo City Cemetery, Buffalo City, WI.
