Vicky Rae Adams

Vicky Rae Adams, age 64 of Mondovi, WI died Thursday, October 16, 2014 at The American Lutheran Home in Mondovi. Vicky was born June 4, 1950 in Buffalo Center, IA to Lester and Lizzie (Ryerson) Helland. She was a 1968 graduate of Durand High School and went on to Cosmetology School in Eau Claire. She married Gary Adams on September 13, 1970 at Meridean Lutheran Church. Vicky operated and owned The Country Cut and Curl Beauty Shop near Rock Falls from 1972 – 1992. She and Gary lived in the Rock Falls/Meridean/Carrieville area for many years. They moved to Mabel Minnesota and for the past four years made their home in Mondovi. Vicky enjoyed painting, carving, being very creative and resourceful often making something from nothing. She was active any way she could help in her church. When she had a few extra dollars, she was always willing to give it to a charity or someone in need. She loved fishing, especially on the Chippewa River. The main thing in her life was her family. She loved each one dearly and enjoyed the times whenever there was a family reunion. Vicky is survived by her husband, Gary of Mondovi; one son, Chad of Parker, CO; one daughter, Alison (Kyle Northcott) Adams of Mondovi; six grandchildren, Owen, Griffin and Fiona Adams and D’Naja, Ananda and Roland Gates; three sisters, Ruth (Ron) Moran of Rochester, MN, Lois Helland of Bloomington, IN and Karen (Fran) Pattison of Mondovi; two brothers, Loyd (Jane) Helland Rock Falls and Nugget Helland of Blairstown, IA; great aunt Ardis Helland and great uncle Gordon Hensen; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Vicky was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Lizzie (Ryerson) Helland; her son Struther Adams; and daughter-in-law, Amber Adams. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi , WI with Pastor Rolf Morck officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Monday, October 20, 2014 at Talbot Family Funeral Home in Mondovi and also one hour prior to the service at the church.
