Verna Mae Linse (Babe), 95, of Pepin, Wisconsin died April 7, 2015 at
Pepin Health & Rehab. She was born May 21, 1919 in
Alma, Wisconsin. She was baptized at the Tell Church and confirmed at
The Nelson Lutheran Church.
Verna was one of eight children, five brothers, Ralph (Gerty), Charles (Olga), Roy (Evelyn), Bob (Neva), and Merlin (Bethel). Two sisters
Della (Ben) Fuller and Lila (Ed) Larson.
Verna married Orville Linse on November 26, 1938 in Iowa. They farmed in the Alma area for many years where there were many family gatherings and hunting parties.
Verna raised her niece Judy (Larson) Seefeldt. In 1957 she helped with the caring of 3 nieces, Lucinda, Gwen and Debra after the passing of their Mother, Sarah (Giverson) Ebersold.
Verna moved to Pepin in 1962. She worked for the Pepin County Homemakers for 18 years until her retirement. In February of 2011 Verna became a resident of Pepin Manor where she made many new friends and reconnected with many old friends. Orville passed away May 3, 1966. In addition to her husband Verna was preceded in death by her parents, August and Bertina (Peterson) Ebersold her stepfather, Ottmar Berni, 4 brothers 2 sister, 4 sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law niece Judy Seefeldt and granddaughter Tammy (Seefeldt) Garboche.
She is survived by 1 brother Merlin (Bethel) of Pepin, 2 grandchildren Brad and Lenny Seefeldt of Kewauskum, WI. Many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by the many friends and family members who are left behind.
She will be remembered for her willingness to always lend a hand
to those who needed one and her beautiful smile and loving heart.
You could never come to her house without her bringing out the homemade cookies and other treats.
We will miss her dearly and love her always.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday April 11, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Pepin, with visitation at 10 a.m. Burial will be at the Nelson Cemetery following the funeral.
