Terry Lee “Dutch” Dutcher, age 42 of Alma passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at his home with his loving family at his side following a courageous hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born on October 1, 1969 at Durand a son of his loving mom, Bernice. Dutch attended Pepin Schools through his junior year, he then finished his senior year at Mondovi High School, graduating with the class of 1987.
Dutch, for several years, was employed at Federal Mogul as a machinist. Dutch made so many friends during his time working at Federal Mogul.
Dutch was a man who truly loved the outdoors and could be found quite often fishing on the Mississippi River with his brother and brothers in law. He also had a love for power sports and the feel of the open road, whether on his Harley or in his firebird.
Dutch would have a wonderful sense of humor and loved to joke. His infectious personality would have complete strangers feel comfortable in meeting and talking to him.
Even during his illness, Dutch kept such a positive and strong outlook on life. He was more concerned about his family and their wellbeing that of his own. Even while at the Mayo Clinic receiving his chemo treatments or tests, Dutch would keep his positive attitude and love of life which would pass on to the entire staff of Chemo Nurses.
All that were blessed to know Dutch will have such wonderful memories to keep in their hearts forever.
Dutch will be deeply missed by his fiancée, Lissa DeLong of Alma and her children, Brittany (Thomas) Fleishauer and Gunner DeLong who he loved like his own; his loving mom and step dad, Bernice and Bob Carlsen of Alma; Teresa (Brian) Ebersold of Alma, Patty (Bruce) Evenson of Nelson and Tim Dutcher of Alma; maternal grandmother, Margaret Torgerson; aunts, uncles, and his niece and nephews, Aaron Ebersold, Derek Evanson, Ashley Ebersold; also his special great niece Ashlyn Ebersold; and of course by his special companion, Diamond, his dog.
Dutch was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Orville Torgerson.
