Sylvia Frances Luthy, age 76, of Alma, passed away on Tuesday, February 12 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Wabasha.
She was born on June 13, 1936 in Rouses Point, NY, a daughter of the late George and Edna (Floyd) Miner.
Sylvia honorably served her country as a member of the United States Air Force.
On June 4, 1955 Sylvia was united in marriage to David Luthy in Alabama. To this union, eight children were born. David preceded Sylvia in death on December 6, 1992.
Sylvia loved being outdoors hunting or fishing. She and her husband Dave enjoyed traveling around the country and will be remembered for their eye for a good rummage sale. She even spent time in Germany.
Sylvia also found enjoyment sitting back and relaxing with a good book. And also enjoyed sewing.
Sylvia will be sadly missed by her children, David (Lisa) of Rochester, Stephen (Dee) of Hixton, WI, Linda (Paul) Rosenberger of Winona, John (Pat) of Abaleen TX, Donna Jean Jahnke of Alma, Peggy Brown of Alma, Hiedi (Dan) Palmer of Alma, Edna (Tony) Lamey of Kellogg; 24 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; one brother, Gary Miner of Rouses Point, NY; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; husband David; two brothers Alvin and John Edward along with her sister Anne and four sons in law.
A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, February 18 at 1:00 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma Chapel. Burial will follow at Alma Memorial Cemetery. A time of visitation and support for Sylvia’s family will be held on Monday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
