Sue Ann Miland, age 67 of Eleva, WI passed away peacefully on Friday, November 29, 2013 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Eau Claire, WI. She was born on June 12, 1946 in Black River Falls, WI a daughter of John and Ione (Gunderson) Radcliffe. Sue attended and graduated from the Eleva-Strum High School with the class of 1964. On December 26, 1964, Sue was united in marriage to Donald Lee Miland at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Independence, WI. To this loving union, four children were born. Sue was a devoted mother and stayed at home to raise her children. After raising her children, Sue was employed at the former Robbes IGA in Eleva. Following its closing, Sue began a long career at United Bank, retiring in January of 2013.
She was a long time faithful member of Eleva Lutheran Church, and an active Sunday school teacher who enjoyed reading at Sunday services. Sue loved crossword puzzles, word searches and was an avid reader. Her family will remember her ability to finish a novel in just two days. She always thought - a busy mind is a healthy mind. Sue’s family will remember her for her “wealth of knowledge” about trivial things. A trait contributed to her crossword puzzle abilities.
Sue always put the needs and concerns of others before her own, for not only family but friends as well. She was a lady that you could confide in. Her children will remember her as the “Classic Mom”; even the friends of her children would call her mom. Plain and simple, her family was her life. Sue will be deeply and dearly missed by her husband of 49 years, Don of Eleva; five children Jodi (Jerry) Gargulak of Ringle, WI, Teddy of Eleva, Todd (Melissa) of Mosinee, WI, Tim of Eleva and Tommy Auger of Altoona; her eight precious grandchildren Hannah and Matthew Gargulak, Dusti and Karli Miland, Chloe and Eli Miland, and Garrett and Wyatt Miland; three sisters Karen (Kert) Rocksvold of Prairie du Chien, Kathie Radcliffe of Eden Prairie, MN and Lisa (Tom) Lorenz of Morris, MN; one brother Jack (Dianne) Radcliffe of Viroqua, WI; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Besides her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her daughter in law Carol, wife of her son Tim.
