Steven Craig Rose, age 49, of Minnesota City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at his home.
He was born on April 25, 1967 in Mondovi, WI a son of Richard and Judy (Gregory) Rose. His father, Richard preceded him in death.
Steven attended Gilmanton Schools in Gilmanton, WI graduating in 1985 from Gilmanton High School.
Steven was united in marriage to Nadeen Lang on October 10, 1987 in Lewiston, MN. To this union, 4 children were born. They later divorced.
Steven, raised on a dairy farm in Gilmanton, remained a farmer for quite some time in the Rollingstone, MN area. He later began a career as a long distance semi-truck driver.
Steven loved being outdoors hunting or fishing, especially on his most favorite place to be, the Mississippi River. Everything he did was with passion, whether it was work or play. All those that knew Steven will always remember him in his cowboy hat and boots. He loved to spend time with his family and friends and was so proud to be a grandpa.
Steven is survived by his children, Cynthia (Brandon) Smith, Jennifer Rose, Jonathan Rose, Samuel Rose and Emma Holmer-Rose; grandchildren, Dillion, Beau and Khloe Smith; his mother, Judy (Steve) Jones; fiancée, Kim Phillips; sisters, Kelly (Curtis) Romey and Sue (Andy) Severson; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and frieinds.
Besides his father, Richard, Steven was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roy and Eleanor Gregory and paternal grandparents, Everett and Genevieve Rose.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi Chapel. Inurnment will follow at the Gilmanton Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday from 12:00 Noon until the hour of the service.
