Stephen Wilson, age 62, of Mondovi passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at his home. He was born and raised on the family dairy farm in Hockessin, Delaware. Stephen was the second son of the late Henry P. and Marion (Gilmore) Wilson. Stephen graduated from Sanford Preparatory School in Hockessin, Delaware, class of 1973 and chose to attend Indian River Technical School in New Richmond, WI in dairy herd management. While attending classes, Stephen also worked on a dairy farm in Roberts, WI. Upon completing his certificate, he worked on a dairy farm north of York, PA. After back surgery, he moved to Virginia, living with his mother, Marion. There Stephen started his own lawn service business, Wilson Lawn Service. After his mother's death in 2006, Stephen decided to retire. He then returned to Wisconsin, living near his sister, Dr. Linda C. Wilson in Mondovi.
Stephen's whole life was agriculture, in one form or another. He kept current on the latest crops, dairy herds and the productions of each and new agriculture equipments, coming on the market through his vast readings of agriculture newspapers and journals. No one had to ask him twice to attend any agriculture event.
In addition to his sister, Linda, Stephen is survived by a brother, Dr. Henry P. Wilson, Jr. (passing on Wednesday, January 11, 2017) and Henry's two children, his niece, Sara R. Wilson and nephew, Brian R. Wilson. He is further survived by many cousins and friends from Florida and Delaware to Pennsylvania and Nevada.
A memorial service will be conducted for Stephen at the Hockessin Friends Cemetery, Hockessin, Delaware later this spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Stephen's name to a charity of the donor's choice.
