Stephen “Steve” Michael Klopp of Buffalo City, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 19, 2024. He was 74 years old.
Steve was born to Patricia Klopp (nee O’Brian) and Norman Klopp on July 18, 1950. He was second oldest of seven kids.
Steve was drafted into Vietnam and discharged in Illinois. Not too long after he welcomed his daughter Kimberly with his first wife Judy Leek in 1972. During their marriage, they owned a bar called Judy and Steve’s Town and Country, and also a laundromat.
Steve and Judy eventually divorced. Later, Steve married Mary Wynn and to this marriage, two sons were born, Jeremy and Stephen born in 1987 and 1988 respectively.
Steve and Mary also divorced. Steve went on to marry Karla Anderson in March 2001, gaining three more daughters through marriage, Elizabeth, Emily, and Danielle.
He worked for the US Army Corp of Engineers from the early 2000’s until he retired. During his retirement he still liked working part time being a maintenance/facility worker for local apartments.
Steve had several hobbies, including but not limited to: drinking beer, watching bad British TV, growing way too much food in the garden, starting many home improvement projects… but seldom finishing, acquiring a boat for fishing, but did not go fishing and couldn’t swim, bee keeping although his wife is highly allergic, riding motorcycle, being loud but refusing to wear his expensive hearing aids, blaring oldies on his radio in the garage, playing games on his tablet while on the toilet, collecting cats like bellybutton lint and eating food that sat out too long.
Steve is survived and will be forever missed by his wife, Karla Klopp, his children: Jeremy Klopp, Stephen Klopp, Elizabeth Glentz, Emily Glentz, and Danielle (William) Rodriguez. His grandchildren: Savana Au, Kaylee Klopp, Gabriel Johnson, and Wesley Klopp. His great-grandchildren: Julian Vredeveld, Jayden Vredeveld, Josiah Phipps and Harrison Au. His siblings: Bonnie Bloom (Gary), Margaret Sessions, Virginia (Dave) Cope and Henry (Tosha) Klopp.
Steve was preceded in death by his grandparents, his great-grandparents. His parents, Norman and Patricia. His stepfather, Bob Steiner. His father-in-law, Donald Anderson. His brothers, Jimmy Klopp and Kenny Klopp. His brother-in-law Terry Sessions. His nieces, Melinda Bloom and Jessica Sessions. His daughter, Kimberly Klopp. His grandson, Dakota Au.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Steve will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi Chapel. Burial, followed by full military honors, will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Town of Naples, Buffalo County, WI. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 26, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Friday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service, all at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in the name of Stephen Klopp, for a memorial fund that is being established, would be appreciated.
