Cochrane, WI.- Sigrud "Sig" C. Lindrud, 66, of Cochrane passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center after a hard fought battle with cancer.
He was born May 12, 1950 in Winona, MN the son of Odell and Ethel (Stoltenberg) Lindrud. Sig proudly joined the Navy and served aboard the U.S.S. Midway. After leaving the Navy, Sig worked for Lacrosse Milling Company, Cochrane and Badger Foundry Company, Winona.
He will be remembered for his gift of gab and his generous nature. He enjoyed taking drives in his car, attending the local dirt track races and cheering for his favorite drivers; he was an avid deer hunter and had a passion for photography. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his closest friends who will miss him dearly.
Sig is survived by his sister, Maureen (Ben) Weiss of Chicago, IL; Special friends, Shaun and Trista Mann; his little buddies Jase and Reese Mann; Bill and Dorothy Lorenz; Bob and Sherry Lorenz; Peggy Dienger; Delbert Krause; Travis Krause.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private celebration of life will be held in Sig’s honor. Sig’s final resting place will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN.
