Shirley Mae Poeschel

Shirley Mae Poeschel, age 91, of Mondovi, Wisconsin passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on October 16, 2023.

Shirley was an absolutely one-of-a-kind woman. She was strong, independent, and not afraid to speak her mind. She was also warm, big-hearted, and cared deeply for her family. She gave tight hugs and wet kisses. She never knew a stranger and loved to share her pride for her children and grandchildren with anyone who would listen. She was a woman of God and an active member of her church. Her presence was large and far-reaching; she will be deeply missed by so many.

Shirley is survived by her children Di (Dean), Brenda, Mike (Kath), Pam (Mike), Scott, and Todd (Sue), as well as 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 12 great-great grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Viva, siblings Eugene, Chester, Janet, Roland, and Ruby, and son Greg.

A memorial gathering in honor of Shirley will be held on Monday, October 23 at Talbot Family Funeral Home in Mondovi from 4-7 PM.

A memorial  service, with Pastor Scott Johnson, officiating will take place at Zion Lutheran Church in Mondovi, on Tuesday, October 24 with visitation at 10 AM, service at 11 AM, and luncheon to follow.  Burial at Riverside Lutheran Cemetery, Mondovi, WI.
