Ruth Elenore Heck

Ruth Elenore Heck, age 85 of Mondovi, WI was called home to Heaven by Jesus and given angelic transport on Sunday, October 27, 2013 with loving family at her side at the American Lutheran Home of Mondovi. She was born on November 6, 1927 in rural Augusta, WI a daughter of George and Augusta (Heminghaus) Elbert. Ruth attended and graduated from Augusta High School. It was on September 23, 1956 that Ruth was united in marriage to Earl E.S. Heck at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bearsgrass in rural Augusta, WI. Before marriage, Ruth was employed at the former U.S. Rubber (Uniroyal) and the Webster’s Candy Factory both of Eau Claire. Ruth and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm in rural Mondovi. Ruth was very active on the farm. She loved to milk the cows, feed her calves, chickens and rake hay. Simply put, she loved her farm life and providing a loving home for her family. Her husband Earl still to this day says she was the best at milking the cows he ever saw. Ruth will be remembered for her love of baking and cooking, patch clothes and working hand in hand with her loving husband. But she will be mostly remembered as a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mondovi and for her deep love and devotion for her Lord and Savior and found great comfort in reading scripture and singing hymns. Surviving Ruth are her Husband, Earl of Mondovi; children, Judy Heck of Mondovi, Paul Heck of Mondovi, Karl (Audrey) Heck of Williamsburg, IA and Tom (Joanne) Heck of Bloomer; five grandchildren, Rachel, Catherine, Joshua, Spencer and Angelina; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents Ruth was preceded in death by her brother George and sister Alice (Don) Erdman. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 11;00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, Mondovi with Pastor Paul Woebbeking officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 30 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM and again on Thursday one hour prior to the service all at the Church. The staff of the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi Chapel, assisted the family with arrangements.
