Ruth Louise Eppler, age 91, of Buffalo City, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2018 at St. Michael's Assisted Living in Fountain City, WI
She was born on October 14, 1927 in Racine, WI and was the daughter of Surance and Ida (Meyer) Egtvedt.
On March 16, 1948, Ruth was united in marriage to James Eppler. James preceded Ruth in death on October 1, 2001.
While residing in Racine, Ruth was employed at the Bosch Company.
Following retirement, Ruth and her husband relocated to Buffalo City.
Ruth was an active in the community, holding memberships in the Lions club, the VFW Auxiliary, Post 10406 in Cochrane and the Racine and Alma order of the Eastern Star.
She was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church in Alma, where she served on the church council and knitting prayer shawls.
Ruth enjoyed gardening and reading and playing bingo. She will be remembered for her love of playing cards, especially bridge.
Ruth will be sadly missed by her son, Bobby (Toni) Eppler of Hutson Oaks, TX; daughter, Sandy (Brian) Michaels of Cochrane; grandchildren, James (Heather) Eppler, Jacqueline (Jay) Braddock, Nicole (Zeke) Secrist, Andrea Eppler, Steven Anzalone, Matthew (Katy) Michaels and Brady (Kasi) Michaels; great grandchildren, Hailey Eppler, Keira Young, Kashton Young, Zachary Wicka, Drew Wicka, Stella Secrist and Maddex Michaels; her sister, Beverly Bentley of Topock, AZ; sister in law, Darlene Egtvedt; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, James, Ruth was preceded in death by 3 sisters and 1 brother.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church, Alma, WI. Burial will follow at Buffalo City Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.
