Russell Ray Guire, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, at the Minneapolis, MN Veterans Home, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Russell was born March 6, 1926, in Gillham Arkansas, the son of David William and Annie Oliver Guire. He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria, both parents, sisters Muriel (Dean) Fasold and Myrtle (Preston) Johnston, and brothers David Austin Guire and Orval Guire. He is survived by daughters Deborah (Phillip) Keefe, and Terri (John) Noll, grandchildren Sarah Boyle, Shannon (Timothy) Becker, Jordan (Lida) Noll, great-grandchildren Cadence Boyle, Delilah and Dillon Becker, and Jasper and Felix Noll, brothers Chester, Raymond (Sue), Patrick (Joette) and Donald (Lorene), sister Alma (Jake) Kitchens, and brother-in-law Forest Wayne (Carol) Machak.
Russell served in the Army during WWII, and married Gloria Kucera on Oct. 17, 1947, in her hometown of Burgettstown, PA. Russell and Gloria lived throughout the country, traveling with Russ' work building smokestacks at power plants. They retired to Alma, Wis. where they formed many steadfast friendships. Russell was an active member of the Alma United Methodist Church, American Legion, VFW, Alma Rod & Gun Club, and was an avid reader, gardener and hunter, and enjoyed cowboy music, snowmobiling and the outdoors. Russell was kind, generous, and would help anyone. He deeply loved and enjoyed his family.
