Ronald Paul Cisewski, age 70 of Indian Creek/Fountain City lost a courageous two year battle with cancer on March 4, 2015 at Gundersen Health System with his loving wife and family at his side.
He was born on February 24, 1945 in Winona, a son of John and Marguerite (Timm) Cisewski.
Ron attended and graduated from Winona Senior High School with the class of 1963. He then attended Winona Vo-tech.
Ron honorably served our country as a member of the United States Army where he gave of himself during the Vietnam War from May 25, 1966 until his honorable discharge on February 24, 1968.
On July 5, 1969 Ron was united in marriage to Patricia Paszkewicz at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Winona. To this union, two sons were born
He was employed as a union carpenter for over 40 years for Fowler Hammer, WMC and Nels Johnson. Ron was a proud member of Local Union #1143 Carpenters Union.
Ron will be remembered as an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors and the mighty Mississippi and spending time with his fishing buddies, Andy & Vic.
Ron is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patti; his son and best friend, John and his significant other Jo Borchert and her children of Indian Creek; his granddaughter, hunting partner and his pride and joy, Hailee and her significant other Derick Spies and Hailee’s mom, Jennifer all of Buffalo City; two sisters, Jackie (John) Koscianski of Winona and Barbie (Ralph) Ianfolla of Northfield, MN; nieces, nephews and Patti’s family of the Paszkiewicz, Gierok and Burmeister families. Ron had many great nieces and nephews that he was so proud of. He would take them fishing and they will have many great memories of their uncle Ron.
Besides Ron’s parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father in law, Dorothy and Edwin Paszkiewicz, infant twin brother; his sister; infant son, James; and his bird dog Penny.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fountain City with Father Brian J. Jazdzewski as celebrant.
Inurnment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Winona at a later date.
A memorial gathering will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until the hour of the mass all at the church.
