Roger Willima Rogneby

Roger William Rogneby, age 85, of Buffalo City, Passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at St. Michael’s Lutheran Home, Fountain City. He was born on January 8, 1926, a son of the late Hawkin and Elfa (Korb) Rogneby On June 5, 1948 Roger was united in marriage to Delores Luedcke. Delores preceded Roger in death on August 29, 2009. Together they lovingly raised two children. Roger had a trade as a tool and die machinist, working in the Chicagoland area. He eventually started and owned his own tool and die manufacturing shop, retiring in 1991. It was soon after his retirement that he and his wife Delores relocated back to Buffalo City. Roger enjoyed several hobbies, most notably, fishing and reading books. Roger’s family will remember him mostly for his ability to fix most anything and being able to do his own repairs on his automobiles. Roger was a quiet and gentle man whom will be will be forever missed by all those who knew him, especially his daughter, Luanne and Robert Hickman of Wadsworth, IL; three grandchildren, Benjamin, Sarah and Jessica; two great grandchildren; his siblings, Florence (Carl) Schultz of Buffalo City, Glenn (Rheta) Rogneby of Galesville, Genevieve Neuman of Streamwood, IL and Bob (Bette) Rogneby of Jefferson, WI; also by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents and his wife Delores, his very precious granddaughter Mary Kathleen Hickman, his brother Jim, sister Connie preceded Roger in death. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 22 at 11:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church, Buffalo City with Pastor Mark Wilde officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo City Cemetery. A time of visitation and support for Roger’s family will be held on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church.
