Robert N. "Bob" Steiner of Gilmanton, age 83, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2015. Bob was born on October 29, 1932, the son of Ferdinand and Florence (Phillips) Steiner. Bob married his high school sweetheart, Betty Jane Klopp on April 13, 1952. They were able to share 52 years together before her death on February 10, 2005. He was able to find love again and married Patricia Klopp on November 11, 2006. Bob was the consummate farmer but, he also had numerous other side jobs that kept him busy. He worked for Parker-Lime in Mondovi and drove school bus but he truly enjoyed driving trucks for Countryside Coop. Bob was a very active and devoted member in church and held every office available. He was a past officer of Gilmanton Community Club and worked on the boards for REA, AG and Gilmanton Coop. What little free time Bob had, he enjoyed scale model tractors, dancing, hunting and traveling. Bob later took up gardening when he got older. He was also known as someone who enjoyed a good meal. Bob loved his dogs and always made sure they had the best. He truly loved going places and doing things with his wife and family. Bob will be greatly missed for the mischievous twinkle in his eye and sense of humor.
Bob is survived by his wife, Pat; children, Mary Jane (Bill) Lisowski of Arcadia, Rita (Rich) Hayter of Independence, John (Ann) of Gilmanton and Julie (Jeff) Kacures of Mondovi; step-children, Kenneth Klopp (friend Sybil) of Gilmanton, Virginia (David) Cope of Rogers, Arkansas, Stephen (Karla) Klopp of Buffalo City, James Klopp of Gilmanton, Margaret Sessions of Mondovi, Bonnie Bloom (Gary Marten) of Gilmanton and Henry (Tosha) Klopp of Gilmant on; grandchildren, Robert (Cathy) Lisowski, Robin Lisowski (Shane Semb), Rachel (Chuck) Amundson, Becky Hayter (friend Travis Pozanc) Derek (Monique) Steiner, Drew Steiner (friend Greyson Falevsky), Dylan Steiner (fiancée Cheyenne Gray) and Morgan Kacures; 5 great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty Jane and siblings, Willard, Allan, Mabel, Dick and Gary.
A funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, Gilmanton on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 11:00 am with Pastor Paul Woebbeking officiating. Burial to follow at Gilmanton Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Talbot Family Funeral Homes - Mondovi Chapel on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm and then again on Thursday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service.
