Robert “Bob” F. Murphy, age 77 of Fountain City, WI died on Thursday, March 26, 2020. He passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with his family at his side.
He was born on June 17, 1942 in St. Paul, MN to Francis and Marvis (Hacklander) Murphy. After graduating from Humbolt High School, Bob honorably served his country in the United States Army.
On January 4, 1964, Bob was united in marriage to Duella Semling.
He retired from Badger Foundry in Winona. Bob was a proud member of GMP Union, Local 63B and over his years of membership, served in various roles. Bob was a staunch supporter of worker’s rights.
Bob is survived by and forever in the hearts of his wife of the past 56 years, Duella; 3 sons, Daniel (Julie), Patrick and Brian (Traci); 5 grandchildren, Kelsey (Adam) Kaufman, Zachary, Elizabeth, Mikahla (Tim) Nelson and Alex; 4 great grandchildren, Charlise, Kilian, Nora and Vivian; also by the Semling families; sister in law, Linda; and by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Durwood; Semling inlaws, Werner and Della, Gladys Pampuch, Mark, Gerry and Steve.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
