Robert LeRoy Lovas, Jr. “Rob”, age 57 of Buffalo City, WI passed away on Wednesday June 20, 2012 of an apparent heart attack, while in his shop doing the things he loved to do.
He was born on April 11, 1955 in Winona, MN to Robert L. ”Bob”, Sr. and the late Dorothy (McKennon) Lovas. Rob attended Cochrane-Fountain City High School, graduating with the class of 1973. He then attended University of Wisconsin-Stout. After one year of “fun and games” of the college life, Rob joined the family business; The Lovas Family Studio of Stained Glass. Rob married Judy White. To this union, three children were born. They later divorced.
On September 3, 1995 Rob was united in marriage to Lori Pastor at the little white church by goose Lake Park in Cochrane, also known as Hope United Church of Christ. Rob will be remembered for his zest and love for life. Rob’s dad Bob, remembered him for his honesty, integrity and being a very good front man for the business. Rob took great pride in his craft. Rob’s family will forever remember him for is his quirky sense of humor, crooked smile and the laugh that went along with it. He loved life and he loved his family, especially his children and his grandchildren. Rob will be sadly missed by his wife of the past 17 years, Lori of Buffalo City; his loving children, Becky (Nathan) Renner of Senora, CA, Andy (Kacie) Lovas of Winona, Danny (Lara) Lovas of the Town of Montana, WI; two grandchildren, Levi and Laurel Renner and one on the way; his father, Bob (significant other, June Plessel) Lovas, Sr. of Cochrane; siblings, Ann Marie (David) Kohner of Winona, Frank (Lisa) Lovas of Alma, Jeanine (significant other, Joe) Lovas of Winona and Cindy (Tim) Averbeck of West Salem and his best friend, Charlie Beighley who he thought of as his other brother; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
A Visitation will be at Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma, WI on Monday June 25 at 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Service will be also at the funeral home on Tuesday June 26 at 11:00 AM, with an hour of visitation prior. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Winona, MN.
