Robert Lisowski age 89, of Alma, WI passed away Friday December 27, 2013 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Wabasha, MN.
Robert was born May 17, 1924 to Peter and Olga (Konsela) Lisowski. He was united in marriage to Vivian Mahutga on May 19, 1947. In this union four sons, David, James, Kevin, Terry and three daughters Catherine, Jean, and Karen were born.
Robert started his career as a logger until he got married and moved to LaCrosse, WI. For the next two years Robert worked for LaCrosse Flooring. From March 3, 1949 until the time of his retirement, Robert farmed with his family.
Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking. He took pride in his farm and enjoyed “tweaking and modifying” his farm equipment to make it work better. The most important part of his life was spending time with his family and friends. He hosted many large gatherings at the family farm. We will always remember his famous BBQ chicken he cooked up with the help of some of his brothers, which had the “secret Polish seasoning”. One of Robert’s favorite sayings was “Putting all jokes aside” and “Be nice to dumb animals”, usually referring to himself or one of us.
Robert will be sadly missed by his wife of 66 years, Vivian, His three sons, David (Susan), Kevin (Jennifer), Terry (Ebbony); three daughters, Catherine (Hans Stolz), Jean (Paul Thill), Karen (Roger Pronschinske), and adopted grandson, James Jr. (Shanna). He was also a wonderful, fun- loving grandparent to 20 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Robert is preceded in death by his son, James, his parents Peter and Olga, and twin brother Jacob.
