Robert A. “Bob” Carlsen, Jr. age 75 of Alma, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 27, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Wabasha, MN. He was born on August 28, 1942 in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Robert Sr. and Olive (Orne) Carlsen. Bob graduated from Pepin High School in 1960. He went to Buffalo County Teachers College in Alma. Bob enlisted in the United States Navy in 1962 and was honorably discharged in 1966. He was an avid Packers and Brewers fan. Bob loved farming and his John Deere tractor. When he could relax, he was content with a good cup of coffee and conversation.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Bernice of Alma; children, Karen (Ken) Powell of Minnetonka, MN, Robert John Carlsen of Sturgeon Lake, MN, Patricia (Tim) Heit of Elk Mound, WI, Tim Dutcher of Alma, Teresa (Brian) Ebersold of Alma and Patty (Bruce) Evenson of Nelson; grandchildren, Kristen and Kendra Powell, Jessica, Nick and Jenna Heit, Aaron Ebersold, Derek Evenson and Ashley Ebersold; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Nik Ebersold; sister, Lynn “Effie” Wagner of Ann Arbor, MI; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Terry L. “Dutch” Dutcher; and brother-in-law, Bob Wagner.
A funeral service will be held at Talbot Family Funeral Homes, Alma Chapel on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 1:00 pm with Tom Elliott officiating. Burial to immediately follow at Alma Memorial Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm and then again on Friday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.
