Reathel G. Schroeder

Reathel G. Schroeder died September 14, 2024 at Gunderson St Elizabeth Nursing Home with her family at her bedside. She was born April 9th, 1929. Reathel was the youngest child of twelve children born to Edwin & Permella (Lockard) Hess. She attended Nelson Elementary & High School graduating in 1947. After graduation Reathel went to work in the Buffalo County ASCS Office for 2 years. She married Orville Myren in 1949. They were later divorced. In 1983 she married Marvin Schroeder and they resided in Alma, Wisconsin. Marvin’s work with the Corp of Engineers caused Reathel and Marvin to do a lot of traveling. Reathel enjoyed taking long walks, watching television, following the Green Bay Packers and reading. But she got her greatest joy from visiting with her children and grandchildren. Reathel was a member of the United Methodist Church in Pepin, Wisconsin. She was also a member of the Minnesota American Legion Auxiliary in Wabasha, Minnesota. Reathel is survived by one son Roger (Tracy) Myren of Eagan, Minnesota and one daughter: Rebecca (Michael) Vinz of Rochester and one sister Dorothy Dummer of Nelson, Wisconsin. Reathel also has many grandchildren and great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Besides her parents, Reathel was preceded in death by her daughter, Burma and 10 siblings 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma Chapel. A private family burial will be at a later time. A memorial gathering will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 20th from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service.
