Raymond D. Christianson

Raymond Duane Christianson, age 88, of rural Mondovi, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Sacred Heart Hospital, with his family at his side. He was born on July 5, 1928 to the late Clarence and Anna (Iverson) Christianson on the home farm in Trempealeau County. He attended Plainview School. On August 31, 1957, Ray was united in marriage to Marjorie Bruvold at Trinity of Norden Lutheran Church. To this union, two sons were born, Rick and Barry. Ray was born, raised and worked his entire life on the family farm, in which he took great pride. In addition to farming, he dug raves in numerous local cemeteries for over 40 years. In Ray’s early years he worked as a carpenter with Joe Everson and Hjalmer Olson in addition to farming. Ray was a faithful member of Trinity of Norden Lutheran Church, serving on the church council where he served as President, was a member of the church choir and for over 40 years served as the church cemetery sexton In his later years, Ray would like to watch Milwaukee Brewers games on TV. Ray will be sadly missed by his wife of 59 years, Marjorie; his sons, Rick and his wife Sue and Barry and his wife Melissa; grandchildren, Ryan Christianson and Brent (fiancée, Briana) Christianson, Kelsey (Brad) Barneson, CJ (Ciara) Christianson and Drew Christianson; great grandchildren, Sutton and Everly Barneson and Bentley, Kaiser and Keelin Christianson. Besides his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his cousin who was more like a brother, Ernest Iverson. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Trinity of Norden Lutheran Church with Pastor Lisa Watson-Hill officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home of Mondovi and again on Saturday, at the church from 10 AM until the hour of the service.
