Norma Helen Tessendorf

Norma Helen Tessendorf, age 91, of Mondovi passed away on Wednesday July 1, 2015 at the American Lutheran Home, Mondovi She was born on December 6, 1923 to Herbert and Ada (Sohn) Heck in Mayfield, WI. She grew up in Modena and graduated from Gilmanton High School. Norma married Irvin Tessendorf on January 15, 1945 in Racine and after a honeymoon in Chicago, they returned to live in Modena. They had two sons, Ronald of Roanoke, VA and Lynn, now deceased. Irvin died on July 19, 1981 and Norma moved to Mondovi in May of 1984. In November of 1989 she survived a disabling cerebral aneurysm and after extensive rehabilitation, moved permanently to the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi. She is survived by her son Ronald of Roanoke, VA; grandson, David Tessendorf of Twinsburg, OH; granddaughter Laura Ponzo and one great grandchild, Max Ponzo, currently living in Germany. Norma was preceded in death by her husband Irvin; son, Lynn; infant brother, Rubin; infant sister Margret and sisters, Gertrude Hustad, Florence Johnson and Frieda Ress. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015 at 1:30 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Homes, Mondovi Chapel. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Mondovi.
