Neva Mae Valentine Ebersold, age 91, of Buffalo City, WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 12, 2013 at her home under the care of Winona Area Hospice.
She was born on January 9, 1922 in Dover, MN a daughter of the late Harvey and Lillian (Polzin) McDougall.
Neva was married to Hugh Lewis; later to Stanley Valentine and lastly to William Ebersold all of which have preceded her in death.
Many in the area will remember Neva as the owner and operator of the 5th Avenue Bar in Cochrane which she ran for 36 years until retirement.
She enjoyed bird watching, crossword puzzles and playing the stump drum. Neva was also very fond of music and was quite the musician, playing the piano for the Jolly Norseman Polka Band back in the 1940’s.
Neva will be sadly missed by her sons, Larry (Bonnie) Lewis of Byron, MN, Mike (Deb) Valentine of Buffalo City; step children, Cindy Ebersold, Gwen Kortness, Debra McDonough and Kevin Ebersold; grandchildren, Kelly (Keith) Schlaak, Kari (Tom) Dilworth and Kim (Brent) Vatland; four great grandchildren, Paige and Chad Schlaak and Braxton and Braeden Dilworth; one sister, Marge Overman; also by step-grandchilden; step great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents, husbands, one brother and three sisters, Neva was preceded in death by her special grandson, Eric Valentine.
A time of visitation and support for Neva’s family will be held at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Cochrane Chapel, on Saturday, June 15 at 10:00 AM to 11:00AM with a service and burial to follow at Buffalo City Cemetery.
