Morris Dean Reeser, age 72 of Pepin, WI passed away on September 6, 2018 at his home with his wife after an 8 year battle with melanoma cancer. Dean was born in Cedar Falls, IA on September 9, 1945 to Emory and Laura (Rathman) Reeser.
He attednded Mt. Vernon #9 country school and later the Cedar Falls Public Schools. In 1966 Dean was drafted into the Army, taking his basic training at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. After that, he was stationed at Pleiku, Vietnam where he drove a helicopter fuel semi. He was given an honorable discharge in 1967.
On July 19, 1966, he married Jacqueline Rice at Cedar Falls, IA and to this union two sons where born, Jim and Ben. The family resided in the Janesville, IA area a few years and later he moved to the Pepin, WI area where he operated a dairy farm. Later he drove school bus for the Pepin Area Schools. In January of 1995, he lost Jackie in an automobile accident.
On May 10, 2008 he married Connie Lueptow. They resided in Pepin until the time of his passing. Dean loved bass fishing and was a member of the Bass Master Fishing Club. He was also an avid deer hunter; his biggest passion was mule deer hunting in Nebraska with his brother-in-laws.
Dean leaves behind his wife, Connie; sons, Jim of Stockholm, WI and Ben (Marcie Tomlinson) of Arkansaw, WI; Amber Abbott of Oakdale, MN.; stepdaughters Lisa Lueptow of Chandler, AZ, Laurie (John)Rodriguez of Mondovi, WI, Lindsey(Ryan) Jones of Gilbert, AZ, and Lacey(James Brown) Lueptow of La Crosse, WI. Grand children, Jacqueline and Chase Reeser, and Brittany and Cody Tomlinson. Step grandchildren; Bailey(Evan)Schmidtknecht, Kendra Moyer, Wyatt Mattausch, Brittney Sonsalla, Shelly Reyes Lueptow, Logan Rodriguez, Palmer Jones, and Addie and Dawson Abbott. Also by great grandchildren; Jasper and Brian Schmidtknecht, and McKenna Ellenberger. Sister in law Jeannie (Kenny) Forry, 2 nieces, and 3 nephews, and many friends in Iowa and Nebraska.
Preceding Dean in death were his parents; his wife, Jackie; brother, Erwin and sister-in-law, June Reeser.
A visitation will be held at 4:00PM to 7:00PM on Monday September 10, 2018 at Talbot Family Funeral Home in Alma, WI and also one hour prior to the funeral service at 11:00AM on Tuesday September 11 also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Stockholm , WI. Lunch will be served at the VFW in Wabasha, MN immediately after the burial.
