Monica M. Olson, age 88, affectionately known as "Grandma Ole" of Eleva, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the Mayo Health System in Eau Claire.
She was born on November 30, 1929 in Arcadia, WI a daughter of John and Katherine (Suchla) Pampuch.
On May 21, 1951, Monica was united in marriage to Donald H. Olson at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Independence. To this union, four children were born. Donald preceded Monica in death on Labor Day of 2003.
She was employed at Doughboy Fryers and then for Gold n’ Plump working until she was 70 years old.
Monica enjoyed her gardening and fishing, but most notably she will be remembered for her love of cooking many meals for her family and friends and being a strong and hard-working lady. The joy of her hard work was keeping her loving sons in law in line.
Monica will be sadly missed by her children, Ann (Dennis) Emerson of Eleva, Debbie (Larry) Peterson of Eleva, Bob (Laurie) Olson of Pigeon Falls and Mark (Jodi) Olson of Lenexa, KS; five grandchildren, Teresa (Chad) Nyseth of Eleva, Heather (Jeremy) Nicolet of Strum, Lacey (Aaron) Rosman of Strum, Cory Peterson of Eleva and Shelbi Olson of Chicago; eight great grandchildren, Colin and Kelsey Nyseth of Eleva; Halle, Hunter and Lydia Nicolet of Strum; Caden, Kylie and Barrett Rosman of Strum; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents and husband Donald, Monica was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Eleva Lutheran Church, Eleva, WI with Pastor Bob Castro officiating. Enurnment will follow at Eleva Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service at the church.
