Miles W. Pank, Jr, age 81 of Alma, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017. He was born on April 11, 1936 on the farm in Alma, the son of Miles Pank, Sr. and Lorraine (Thoney) Pank, Miles graduated from Alma High School in 1955. He was a proud Army Veteran and has been an American Legion member in Alma for 22 years. Miles was a Law Enforcement Officer in Minnesota. He moved his family back to Wisconsin and worked with his father-in-law Lester Mueller on the family farm and for his business selling farm equipment. Miles also worked for the Alma School System and later retired after serving many years. He enjoyed hunting and playing cards with family and friends.
Miles is survived by his children, Wendy (Ken) Sobotta of Fountain City and Jeffrey (Dawne) Pank of Fullerton, CA; grandchildren, Nicole Sobotta, Cody Sobotta, Jordan Pank and Jillian Pank; siblings, Patricia Vollmer, Donna Carothers and Dennis (Lynette) Pank; brother-in-law, Richard Mueller; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Miles Sr. and Lorraine Pank; wife, Gloria (Mueller) Pank; brother-in-laws, Marvin Vollmer and Duaine Carothers and nephew, Randy Vollmer.
A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Alma, on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 11:00 am. Burial to immediately follow with Military Honors at Mill Creek Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Talbot Family Funeral Homes – Alma Chapel on Friday, June 23, 2017 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and then again at church from 10:00 am until the time of service.
