Mavis A. (Ottum) Anderson, 82 of Gilmanton, WI passed way on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Mayo Health System, Eau Claire.
She was born at home on March 22, 1934 in Alma, WI to Edwin and Grace (Adams) Ottum. Mavis came from a large loving family of 16 brothers and sisters
Mavis was united in marriage to the love of her life, Jelmer Anderson on September 15, 1951. To this union, two children were born.
Mavis worked for families as a young girl and then later in life worked at Huntsinger Farms and babysat for several families along with being the hostess for the senior meals at the Gilmanton Cafe for many years. Mavis and her husband farmed in the Gilmanton area for most of their lives until moving to the village of Gilmanton in 1975. Her family will always remember that no matter how many times they said "I love you" she would always say "I loved you first"
Mavis was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Jelmer.
Mavis will be sadly missed by her daughter, Patsy (Allen) Comero and son, Perry (Lynn) Anderson; grandchildren, Michael (Shawn) Comero, Kiley (George Jacobs) Anderson, Nathan (MecKella) Anderson and Danielle (Jay Miller) Anderson; great grandchildren, Mara, Marissa and Alex Harris; Whisper and Zaiden Jacobs; Xavier, Conner, Nakia and Henry Anderson; Jordan (Jeff Vojtasek), Ian and Emma Henk.
sisters Darlene Davis, Jensine (Elmer) Myers, Linda Robinson and Vicky Fuller; brothers, Clifford (Sandy) Ottum, Royal (the late, Gloria Ottum, Ross Ottum and Allis (Rose) Ottum; sisters in law, Phyllis Ottum, Olive Ottum, Bonnie Ottum and Eileen Scyphers; brothers in law, Maeland Anderson and Linden (Diane) Anderson; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi Chapel with pastor Dale Engen officiating. Private inurnment will be at the Gilmanton Cemetery. A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held on Thursday, February 2 from 4 pm until 7 pm and again on Friday from 10 am until the hour of the service all at the funeral home.
