Mary Louise Mikesell, age 66, of Mondovi, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday May 7, 2015 after a short and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on September 10, 1948 in Eau Claire, a daughter of William and Shirley (Lubinski) Parr.
Mary attended Mondovi schools and was a graduate of the Mondovi High School Class of 1966.
On Mary was united in marriage to John Mikesell. To this union, two sons were born. They later divorced.
Mary, for over 12 years, ran M and J tours. A business where she coordinated casino travels throughout the united states.
She also was the owner/operator of Partyville bar in Mondovi for three years. Around 1996, Mary worked for Gemini Cares and later Iris home health care where she retired in 2012.
Mary was a long time and devout parish member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mondovi.
She enjoyed casino trips, especially with her dear best friend, Mary Schmidtknecht, a good cup of coffee and a scratch off. Mary truly had a heart of gold. She was always willing to share with those in need as it never was a sacrifice to her. Her greatest and most treasured love was for her two sons and five grandchildren for they were her life, pride and joy.
Mary’s memory will live in the hearts of her two sons, Andrew (fiancée ) Mikesell and Gabe Mikesell all of Mondovi; five grandchildren, Alina, Anna, Mason, Jayden and Bennett; siblings, John (Judy) Parr of Durand, Tony (Beth) Parr of Hudson and Jeff (Gerri) Parr of Eau Claire; ex-husband, John Mikesell of Black River Falls; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mondovi with Father Eric Linzmaier as Celebrant. Private family inurnment will be at Oak Park Cemetery. A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the hour of the Mass.
