Margaret Bork, age 91 of Fountain City, WI passed away on Wednesday August 1, 2012 at St. Michaels Lutheran Assisted Living.
She was born on April 30, 1920 in Doelle Valley, Buffalo County. She was the daughter of the late John and Minnie (Haueser) Ziegler.
On September 2, 1935 Margaret was united in marriage to Alfred Bork at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, Fountain City. Alfred preceded Margaret in death on April 15, 1969.
Margaret and her husband spent most of their lives farming in Eagle Valley. In 1996, She took residence at the senior housing apartments in Fountain City. It was in 2007 when Margaret entered St. Michael’s Lutheran Home in Fountain City where she was a resident ever since.
She was a member of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church and will be remembered for her enjoyment of playing cards, especially 500.
Margaret will be sadly missed by her six children, Alice (Lowell) Stueve, Edna ( Bill) Meier, Norman (Beverly) Bork, Rhoda (Duane) Engstrand, Ruth (Ronald) Hohman and David Bork; and many special grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband Alfred, an infant son, six brothers, Henry, Harry, Roy, Ray, Melvin and George; two sisters Lillian Bork and Ella Powell preceded Margaret in death.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 5 at 4:00 – 7:00PM at St. Michael’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and again one hour prior to the funeral service on Monday August 6 at 11:00 AM, also at the church. Burial will follow at Fountain City Cemetery.
