Mr. Marcel Przybylla, age 87, of Buffalo City, passed away on Friday morning, November 17, 2023 at his home with his beloved wife and family at his side while under the care of Winona Heath and Hospice.
Marcel Przybylla was born February 12, 1936, in Wickum Valley, Independence, to John and Monica (Woychik) Przybylla. Marcel married the love of his life Mary Ann Sobotta at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Arcadia in 1958.
He was a wonderful husband, dad, and grandpa who had a deep love for his family and was a man of strong faith. Throughout the years his amazing soul touched the lives of many people along the way.
His family moved to town when he was very young where they had vegetable gardens to tend to and he helped work neighboring farms to support his family until he graduated. Marc started his adult career by working in construction as an operator in 1956 which was a job that he loved. Marc enjoyed working on the road but after he had a family, he realized it was time to find a career where he could be home to help his loving wife raise the family together. In 1968 he took a different career path and started the venture as a tavern owner. Together they owned 3 successful taverns in Arcadia; Marc and Mary Snappers, Riverview Lanes, and Fishermans Lounge.
When it was time to retire they moved to Buffalo City where they enjoyed the life of fishing and frequenting the local establishments with friends and family.
Marc loved fishing, hunting and of course the party after the hunt. In his early years he enjoyed camping, one of their favorite places to camp was Merrick Park. Later in life, Marc loved playing cards with family, especially partner euchre. He spent his free time watching his favorite teams: the Packers, Badgers, Brewers, Bucks, and the CFC Pirates. Marc and Mary Ann would frequent all the local auctions to add to their collection. Until Marc’s last day, he never missed his lunch beer or evening old fashioned. He enjoyed many of his cocktails with Mary Ann’s company on their back deck enjoying the flowers and bird watching.
Marc will be deeply missed by the love of his life, his wife of 65 years Mary Ann; his children Marsha, Marilyn (Larry) Statz, Marjorie (John Sain), Margo (Tim Hansen) and Marti (Larry) Gabel; grandchildren, Tanner (Hailey) Lisowski, Jacob (Allie) Waldera, Jordan (Sammy) Statz, Amanda (Chad) Stewart, Andrew (Michelle) Kretlow, Matthew Brown, Maegen Brown, Katie (Max) Ferguson, Josh (Ellie) Przybylla, Nikki (Anthony) Archuleta, Jesse (Jodi) Gilbertson, Lucas (Lizzie) Gabel, Rylee (Kyle) Gabel, Makenna (Jonathan) Gabel; great-grandchildren, Zaida and Lynk Lisowski, Tenalyn and Fox Waldera, Jadyn, Julian & Trenton Halls, Justin Haas, Evelyn, Boston and Beckett Ferguson, Baby Archuleta, Mariah, Sophie and Riley Kretlow, and his buddy Dukey Duke. He is survived by his brother Robert Przybylla and sister Dorothy Grulkowski and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Johnny P., brother Ed and sister Rosemary Przybylla.
