Lucille Frances Deetz, age 89, of Mondovi, WI passed away on Saturday August 4, 2012 at the American Lutheran Home of Mondovi.
Lucille was born on October 2, 1922 in Independence, a daughter of Orion and Cora (Back) Briggs. She attended and graduated from Independence High School with the class of 1940.
Following high school, Lucille attended Paul’s Hairdressing Academy located in Minneapolis, graduating in June of 1941. She returned to Mondovi, the following year and began her career at the B-Love-Lee Beauty Salon. February 6, 1943 she married Duttie J. Deetz at Indiantown Gap, PA. Another chapter in her life began when she purchased the B-Love-Lee Salon in 1947. Lucille had her salon for a remarkable 62 years. She was quoted in an article commemorating her 50th year as “We enjoy our customers, and I think they know it.” Lucille’s customers were like family, she loved what she did. She was also involved various organizations, being a former officer of the Mondovi Business Association, to the former district Director of WI Hairdressers Association, and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1996.
Lucille will be forever remembered by her daughter, Pamela Deetz of Mondovi; also by many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Duttie, her son Douglas, her step-father Selmer Abrahamson, and step-brother Donald Abrahamson.
A Visitation will be on Wednesday August 8 at Central Lutheran Church in Mondovi at 10:00AM until the hour of Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Talbot Family Funeral Homes, Mondovi assisted the family with arrangements.
