Cochrane - Lois J. Suhr, age 80, passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Gunderson Hospital, La Crosse. She was born on March 28, 1935 in the Town of Waumandee, Buffalo County, to Arthur and Julia (Kaste-Gleiter) Suhr.
She attended Oak Valley School and later graduated from Cochrane High School in 1953. Lois never missed one day of High School and at the graduation ceremony, she was awarded with a perfect attendance certificate. Lois spent her early years working on the family farm. Later she worked as a dietary aid at St. Michael’s Lutheran Home in Fountain City for 17 years. Lois was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cochrane, where she served in the Ladies aid as well as teaching Sunday School for over 30 years. She loved flowers. Lois had a garden full of flowers that overflowed into her home. When Lois wasn’t hard at work, she loved visiting with people.
Lois is survived by a brother, Victor (Gloria) Suhr of Fountain City; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; half-brother, Myron Gleiter; half-sister, Ethel Buchmiller and dear friend.
Funeral services will be held at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cochrane WI on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Mark Wilde officiating. Burial to immediately follow in the Fountain City Public Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and then again on Thursday from 1:00 pm until the time of service. Talbot Funeral Home is assisting the family.
