Lois M. Scharr, nee, Bohlinger age 95, of Nelson, WI passed away on Friday, June 14, 2013 at Pepin Manor where she was a resident for the past year.
Lois was born on September 23, 1917 in the Town of Montana, Buffalo County to Henry and Erma (Loesel) Bohlinger, Sr. She attended and graduated from Alma High School.
On April 12, 1942 Lois was united in marriage to Wallace Scharr at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Waumandee, WI. To this union, two children were born, Jane and Richard.
Lois began her career as the secretary for the Honorable Judge G. L. Pattison. She later worked as an office assistant at the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture located at the Buffalo County Courthouse until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Alma and the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 224. She was also a proud member of the gardening club along with a variety of quilting clubs. Lois past time was enjoying her luncheon card games at the Nelson Community Center.
Lois was a gracious and giving lady always there with either a plate of cookies, a hand-picked bouquet of flowers from her garden or just a loving hug.
Lois’ greatest love and devotion was for two granddaughters, they always had a special place in her heart.
Lois will sadly her two granddaughters, Sara (Daniel) McDonough-Elsenpeter of Otsego, MN and Sally Scharr of Fitchburg, WI; great granddaughter, Elizabeth Elsenpeter; two brothers, Warren Bollinger of Wisconsin Dells, Henry Bohlinger, Jr. of Strum; one sister, Nancy (Robert) Rosenbaum of Edgerton, WI; son in law Terry McDonough of Nelson; Cynthia Scharr of Alma; also by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wally, her daughter Jane, son Richard, one brother Carroll.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 18 at 11:00 AM at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Inurnment will be at the Nelson Cemetery, Nelson, WI. A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the hour of the mass at the church.
