Lois Marie Lorenz

Lois Marie Lorenz, age 74, of Buffalo City passed away unexpectedly at Winona Health on Wednesday, March 14. She was born on August 24, 1937 a daughter of the late Chester and Cleo (Noeske) Wieczorek. Lois attended and graduated from Alma High School. Lois was employed at Winona Knitting Mills and following the closing of the knitting mill, she began her employment at La Crosse Milling Company retiring shortly after the passing of her husband. On November 23, 1957 Lois was united in marriage to Eugene Edward Lorenz at St. John’s Catholic Church in Winona, and to this union three loving children were born. Eugene preceded Lois in death on June 26, 2010. Lois was a lady who will be remembered for her love of crochet, reading, doing her own vegetable gardening and canning her harvest in the fall and of course, watching QVC. Lois found so much joy with her loving family. Her time with them was very precious especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lois will be sadly and forever missed by her three children, Julie (Steve) Burmeister of Buffalo City, Paul Allen Lorenz of Eleva and Gary Robert (Rhonda Marie) Lorenz of Cochrane; seven grandchildren, Mindy (Mathew) Ward of Buffalo City, Mickey (Jenny)Burmeister of Minnesota City, Kipp Hulquist of Buffalo City, Travis (Brandi) Lorenz of Dover, MN, Danny (Sara) Lorenz of Rochester, Hailee Lorenz of Fountain City and Lexie Lorenz Cochrane; six great grandchildren, Madison, Mylee, Maci, Landon, Sawyer and Jacob; brother, Joseph (Dolly) Wieczorek of Alma; sister Belle (Bob) Dundlinger of Pepin; and also by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and Husband Eugene, Lois was preceded in death by brother, Larry Wieczorek. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 18 at 4:00 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma Chapel with visitation from 2:00 PM until the hour of the services.
