Lois Beseler, age 86, of Cochrane, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Sauer Healthcare in Winona.
She was born on July 3, 1933 in Fountain City, a daughter of the late John and Georgina (Mosimann) Grass.
Lois attended and graduated from Fountain City High School with the class of 1952.
On May 8, 1954, Lois was united in marriage to Roger Beseler as St. John’s United Church of Christ in Fountain City. To this union, 5 children were born. Roger preceded Lois in death on May 28, 2014.
Lois worked as a clerk at Rudy’s Red Owl in Cochrane for 29 years.
Lois was a longtime and faithful member of Hope United Church of Christ, where she served in many capacities, most notably, the Ladies Aid, the church Consistory and was a Sunday school teacher. She was a charter member of the VFW, Post 10406 Ladies Auxiliary in Cochrane along with being a life member of the American Legion, Post 56 Ladies Auxiliary in Fountain City, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, chapter 116 in Ellsworth, WI and a charter member of the Cochrane-Buffalo City Historical Society.
Lois will be remembered as an avid bowler, a volunteer at C-FC school, especially with the first grade class, and she was always a true fan of the CFC Pirates. Lois worked as an election pole worker for the Village of Cochrane and provided some of the best German potato salad for special events in the community. She was a passionate fan of the all of the Wisconsin sports teams, especially the Green Bay Packers. But, Lois’ ultimate love and passion in life was for her family, especially her precious grandchildren and great grandchildren who will forever remember seeing their grandma in attendance at many school activities.
Lois will be forever loved and sadly missed by her children, Mark (Lori) Beseler of Buffalo City, Julie (Mike) Regenscheid of Lino Lakes MN, Rickie (Jean) Beseler of Cochrane, and Andrea (Jeff) Lisowski of Buffalo City; Grandchildren, Dustin (Libby) Beseler, Cassie (Mitch) Abts, Kent and Tyler (Riley) Regenscheid and Cody (Jaida) and Cale Lisowski; great grandchildren, Lucy and Ray Beseler, Hudson, Ellie and Ava Abts,, and baby Lisowski expected to join the family in September...Sister, Shirley (Melvin) Zastrow; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Besides her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband Roger; son, James and a sister, Dorothea Ann Grass.
A private family gathering will be held at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Cochrane Chapel with a graveside service at Buffalo City Cemetery.
The family of Lois Beseler would like to take this opportunity to extend a sincere and heartfelt thank you to all the Staff at Sauer Healthcare for the love, care and compassion given to her, even during these trying and difficult times, your compassion never wavered, and for that, we again, say “thank you”.
