Lloyd “Butch” Schofield, age 59 of Mondovi, WI passed away on Tuesday December 9, 2014 at Mayo Health System, Eau Claire. He was born on October 3, 1955 in Durand, WI to Lloyd and Barbara (Martenson) Schofield, Sr. Lloyd honorably served his Country as a member of the National Guard and the United States Army Reserve for 11 years. On August 1, 1973 Butch was united in marriage to Teresa Darbo in Missouri. To this union, one son, Brent was born. Butch started his career in trucking in by having his own milk truck route. As time progressed, so did his trucking business as together with his wife they owned and operated Schofield Trucking Company since 1985. Butch was an avid and accomplished fisherman. He competed in many bass tournaments throughout the area. Butch was a member of the B.A.S.S. federation and the Cranberry Country Bass Masters. In his younger years, Butch enjoyed deer hunting and was featured on WEAU channel 13 big buck contest. Butch will be remembered as a fun and loving man with a great personality and a sense of humor to match and in years past would always enjoy a “cold beverage” with his friends. Those left behind to cherish Butch’s memory are his wife, Teresa, of Mondovi; son Brent (Jessica) Schofield of Mondovi; two grandchildren, Chris Schofield and Amelia Brunkow; seven siblings, Steve (Wendy), Penney Schofield, Pam (Pat) Schofield, Danny (Penney) Schofield, Sue Schofield, Pat Schofield and Laurie (Rick) Bardell; Mother in law, Della Gronnel; brothers in law, Mike Darbo and Sam (Amy) Kotlarz; father in law, Ronald Darbo; also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a litany of special friends. Butch was preceded in death by his parents, step father, Warren “Grump” Gronnel and sister in law, Katie. A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 13, 2014 at 1:00 PM at the Friendship Church in Mondovi with a visitation held on Saturday from 11:00 until the hour of the service all at the church.
