Linda Ann Koenig

Linda Ann Koenig, age 78, of Mondovi, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Hillview Assisted Living in Mondovi, WI.

She was born on July 31, 1945 to Gerald and Rosemary (Romano) Elsen in Mobile, AL.

Linda worked at Svoma Dental Office, the Strum Nursing Home, American Lutheran Home, and Ashley Furniture for 33 years and was a dedicated EMT for the Mondovi Ambulance Service for 37 years.

As an EMT, Linda came to the aid of so many people in their greatest time of need and by doing so, created many deep friendships, especially with the Dover First Responders.  Linda was a lifetime member of both the VFW and American Legion Auxiliary’s in Mondovi.  Linda will be greatly missed by all those blessed to know her.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Yvonne Runkel of Strum and Tania "Toni" Erickson of Eau Claire; son, Keith Mock of Fairchild; sisters, Barb (Ron) Schmitt, Anita (Barry) Steckling and JoJo (Mark) Goulding; brother, Steve (Lynn) Elsen; also, by grandchild, Brett Mock, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends that meant the world to her. 

Preceding Linda in death were her parents and husband, Keith “Shorty” Koenig.

A memorial service for Linda, for all to attend, will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi Chapel with Chaplain Gary Preston officiating. Inurnment will follow at Oak Park Cemetery.  A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the hour of the service.   In lieu of flowers, Linda’s wishes were that memorials be directed to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
