Leona Rud

Leona Tumm Nichols Rud at the age of 94, passed away on April 3, 2014 at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi, WI. Leona was born in the Town of Ludington, Eau Claire County, WI on Augusts 13, 1919 to Albert and Minnie (Dierich) Tumm. Leona was married to George Nichols, Sr. Together they had nine children. They were later divorced. Leona married Curt Rud in 1981. Leona is survived by three sons, George Jr. (CeAnn) and Edwin of Mondovi, WI; and Alan of Belgrade, MT. Five daughters, Virginia Serum of Racine, WI, Janet Gavin of Silverdale, VA, Barbara Gavin of Park falls, WI, Sally Lulow of Roseburg, OR, and Peggy (Butch) Waldbillig of Milwaukee, WI. Leona is also survived by a sister, Ann Gagnelius, and a brother, Pete Tumm; as well as several grand and great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter Donna Gavin, her husbands, three son in laws, three granddaughters, one grandson, one great granddaughter, and one great grandson, two brothers, and two sisters. A memorial gathering and service will be at Talbot Family Funeral Homes in Mondovi on Monday April 7 at 1:00PM until the time of service at 2:00PM. Chaplain Gary Preston will officiate.
