Larry Boettcher, age 85 of Buffalo City, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Winona Health Manor. He was born at his home on October 7, 1931 in Alma, the son of Walter and Lorena (Schmidt) Boettcher. Larry was baptized at Christ Lutheran Church, Cochrane on March 13, 1932 by Pastor C.F. Kurtzweg. He was also confirmed from Christ Lutheran Church on March 25, 1945 by Pastor C.F. Kurtzweg. Larry attended the Bluebell School in Alma for 6 years. Larry married Myrna Ledebuhr on May 16, 1959 at Grace Lutheran in Stockton, MN by Pastor Harold Braun. He worked on the family dairy farm his whole life, retiring in September 2005 and moved to Buffalo City. Larry was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church and acted as a financial secretary, church counsel and usher. His hobbies were collecting old, classic cars and going to auctions with friends.
Larry is survived by his wife, of 57 years, Myrna of Buffalo City; Timothy of Michigan and Daniel of Menomonie; grandchildren, Travis of Goodview and Stephanie of Eau Claire; great-granddaughter, Rylee; brother, Jack of Winona; sister, Janice Horne of Manassas, Virginia; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Levi and Lyman.
A funeral service will be held at Christ Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Mark Wilde officiating. Burial to immediately follow at Buffalo City Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service.
