Kenneth Andrew Risler, age 66 of Mondovi, WI passed away on Friday March 27, 2015 at Mayo Health System, Luther Campus, Eau Claire.
He was born on August 13, 1948 in Mondovi a son of Andrew and Marion (Bauer) Risler.
Ken attended elementary school in Lima and then Mondovi high school with the class of 1966.
On January 16, 1971 Ken was united in marriage to Alice J. Gardow At Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Eau Claire. To this loving union, three children were born.
Ken was a long time employee of Silver Springs and Huntsinger farms where he put his heart and soul into this operation until retiring in 2006.
Ken honorably served our country as a member of the United States Army Reserve.
Ken was also an active member the Wisconsin Forage Council and Wisconsin Beef Council.
He was a proud volunteer at the St. Francis food pantry in Eau Claire.
Ken was a longtime, active and faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rock Falls, WI serving in many capacities.
Ken had many enjoyments and hobbies, some of which included playing church dart ball, deer hunting, ice fishing on the “mill pond” in Mondovi, spending quality time with his family at the camper up north fishing. He could also be found on the golf course. The most treasured enjoyment in Ken’s life was his family, especially his precious grandchildren. His memory will forever be in their hearts.
Ken will be forever missed by his beloved wife of the past 44great years, Alice of Mondovi; three loving children, Kevin (Natasha) of Mondovi, Kelly (her significant other and her rock, Scott Glassbrenner) Risler of Eau Claire and Karen (Barry) Weiss of Eau Claire; four precious grandchildren, Ethan, Skylar and Zandar Risler and Sophie Weiss and one little grandson on the way; siblings, Carol (Raymond) Brantner of Mondovi, Edward (Linda) of Mondovi, Raymond (Cheryl) of Mondovi, David (Janelle) of Mondovi, Roger (Carol) of Mondovi, Cindy (Charles) Hardy of Mondovi, Jo Anne (Jody) Davis of Mondovi, Donna (Jamie) Davis of Gilmanton; brothers in law, Dennis Fedie of Durand and Leon Ableindinger; sister in law, Lorraine Gardow; and also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Ken in death were his parents, two sisters Diane Ableidinger and Bernice Fedie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Rock Falls, WI on Monday, March 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM with Father John Schultz celebrating. Burial will follow at the Parish Cemetery. A time of visitation and support will be held at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Mondovi Chapel on Sunday, March 29 at 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the Mass.
