Kathleen E. Loewenhagen, age 59, of Alma, WI passed away following a nine year battle with cancer at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Wabasha.
She was born on October 12, 1957 in Eau Claire, WI a daughter of Olga A. (Thalacker Larson) Vogel and the late Ross G. Larson.
Kathy attended Durand Unified School District, graduating from Durand High School with the class of 1975. Following her graduation she attended UW-Eau Claire for one year before transferring to UW-Oshkosh where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in history.
On April 23, 1983 Kathy was married to Dennis “Tangle” Loewenhagen at St. John Lutheran Church in Durand.
After college, Kathy began a career with Pepin County, serving as the Deputy Treasurer and later as the Deputy Register of Deeds.
Kathy was also an employee at Kwik Trip in Alma from 2008 until she was no longer able to.
She loved sewing, flower gardening, knitting, crocheting and scrapbooking. The love that Kathy had for her family, especially her three children, will be in their hearts forever.
Kathy will be dearly missed by her husband of the past 34 years, Dennis, of Alma; three children, Darrin (significant other, Becky Sobota) Loewenhagen of Durand, Mackenzie Loewenhagen of Middleton, WI and Shelley (Tyler) Place of Menomonie, WI; her mother, Olga A. Vogel of Eau Claire; two sisters, Julie Lindstrom of Alma and Linda Larson of Nashville, TN; also by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Ross.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church in Alma, WI with Pastor Michael Vetsch officiating.
Burial will follow at Alma Memorial Cemetery, County Road I, Alma, WI.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 28 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma Chapel and again at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the service
