Kathie A. Hartley passed away on June 23, 2020 after a tough battle with brain cancer. She never gave up and fought until the very end, never losing her sense of humor or loving nature.
Kathie was born in Wabasha on January 7, 1954 to Edwin and Rosemary (Schively) Gleiter. She was the loving sister of Ron (Patricia) Gleiter of Bay Center, WA, Ken (Carol) Gleiter of Winona, MN, and
Mark (Amy) Gleiter of Mondovi, WI.
She attended the Alma school system all of her learning years and was a member of the 1972 Alma High School graduating class.
The love of Kathie's life were her children, Kristina (Jason) Soots of Asheville, NC and Chad (Ana) Hartley of Tomah, WI.
Kathie is survived by her life partner of the last 18 years, Jodie Baumgarten of Norwalk. She is further survived by her step brothers; Barry (Carol) Johnson and Don (Sandy) Johnson, step sisters; Cindy
(Ron) Jacoby and Marilyn (Gary) Weisenbeck. Many more dear family members and friends survive her.
Welcoming Kathie to her heavenly home are her parents, her infant sister Cynthia, her stepmother Eunice, maternal grandparents Fred and Margaret Schively and paternal grandparents John and Rose
Gleiter.
A memorial gathering to remember and celebrate Kathie's life will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon at the Talbot Family Funeral Home, Alma Chapel. A graveside burial of Kathie's ashes will immediately follow at the Alma Public Cemetery.
There will also be a celebration of life in Tomah, WI, date and location to be determined.
As these gatherings are to celebrate Kathie's life and she loved this time of year and all the flowers blooming, she and her children request no dark clothing. Bright colors, lots of purple, and even tie dye is welcome and expected!
