Judith Ann Krause

Judith Ann "Judy" Krause, age 70, of Buffalo City, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 30, 2023 at Gundersen St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Wabasha.

She was born in Rushford, MN on May 23, 1952 to Manford and Geneva (McCarty) Hanson.  

After graduating from Harmony High School in 1970, Judy attended Winona State University where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in social work in May of 1974.

On June 8, 1974, Judy was united in marriage to Gary Krause in Harmony, MN.  To this loving union, 2 children were born.

Judy was a longtime employee of Badger Foundry in Winona, working in the administration department until her retirement in 2010.

Judy was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Post 10406 in Cochrane.  She took great pride in her membership and actively volunteered her time in many different ways and enjoyed the comradery between the other auxiliary members.  

Judy was an avid Milwaukee Brewers fan and enjoyed going to see games in person.

While Judy's two children were growing up, she would always enjoy attending their school sporting events and activities.  

She and her husband, Gary loved to spend time together taking rides to soak up the scenery of the countryside and maybe stopping along the way for a sandwich.

Judy will be deeply missed by her husband of almost 49 years, Gary, of Buffalo City; children, Allison (Matt) Biesanz and Kyle (Jamie) Krause; 7 grandchildren, Hannah, Hailey, Brett and Mallory along with Kalista, Aubrey and Paisley; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 starting at 1:00 PM with a time of remembrance beginning at 2:00 PM at the VFW, Post 10406 in Cochrane.
